The case studies used are from the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts, but the findings apply to the whole Christian community. I understand that the intent of God since creation was for humanity to be diverse and to live together in harmony. Using my experiences as Area Minister, I explore some of the major barriers we need to overcome in order to create multicultural churches. It gathers material from interviews conducted in Spanish communities along the eastern seaboard, especially in the Spanish church setting of Manchester, New Hampshire.  Maslowian theory concerning human motivation, conflict between birth-culture ties and a competitive society and the scarcity of bi-lingual, cross-cultural programs shaped the author's philosophy of pastoral care. Using the original sources of their diaries, letters and published works, their own words are transposed from the written form onto the stage as two-act dramatic monologues. Two completed scripts are included in this work; they are the Fry and Stowe plays which have been performed before live audiences whose feedback is included (chapter 7) in the work and whose reactions informed the re-writing of the finished scripts. Those scripts, with historical introductions and study guides, comprise chapters 3 and 5 of the work.
