The project is divided into three parts.  Part one presents a systems approach for analyzing and intervening in parish and agency settings. Part two draws on actual experience in over ninety settings. It suggests ways for professional and volunteer, full-time and part-time, ordained and lay ministerial leaders to collaborate. It uses case studies to demonstrate the role-specific pitfalls which pastors experience that contrast with their inherent therapeutic potential.  It presents the major perspectives of family systems theory with appropriate procedures, techniques and case reports.
