The 52 lay evangelists who participate in the study increase their efficiency, inspiration, and motivation for outreach, and they are eager to use the training they receive in their communities. The project demonstrates that a lay evangelism training school can motivate and equip persons of any language or ethnic background to fulfill the mandate to 'make disciples of all nations.' Applying criteria for authentic expository preaching derived from biblical and current literature to 14 sample sermons prepared by seven Korean Seventh-day Adventist preachers, the project determines that only two of these sermons are expository. Participating clergy recommended that a core course in sexual ethics should be included in all ministerial training programs and that seminars or programs should be initiated to assist ministers already in pastoral practice. New and transferring pastors should be screened for potential sexual difficulties and should be asked to participate in an orientation process. Previous SDA evangelism in Jamaica has successfully reached poor and working people, but it has been ineffective in contacting and attracting the upper classes. The project suggests that 'intentional ministries'--any social ministry, instrument, or program designed to make a deliberate impact within the local community--can be used to contact upper-class people and make personal evangelism possible. Employing anthropological and biblical perspectives, this project analyzes four religious beliefs and practices that prevent acceptance of Christianity among Ashantis, finding that a major problem is the traditional Ashanti concept of God as remote, unapproachable, and unavailable in times of crisis. The project revealed some forgotten trajectories that shed light on such texts as Matthew 24, 2 Thessalonians 2, and Romans 11. The project concludes that the earliest Christians expected a heavenly kingdom on earth as promised in Daniel 7 and 9, and that this 'restorationist' theology remained active until the third century AD.
