Hence, it takes as its methodology practical theology, the process of interpreting faith within the context and for the sake of the church. Communal preparation for preaching is transformational. It gives passion, wisdom, improved skills, and new understanding to the preaching event, the preacher, and the community. Preachers should focus instead on those prisoners who are trying to break free from the hold and effects of this prisonizing environment.  The transition from the self-absorbed dynamics of the prisoner social structure to the mutual, interpersonal ideals of society is a difficult process.  This struggle to break free from the hold of prisonization is really a response to the call to be more human. Hip-hop and folklores provide the language that facilitates the youth's understanding of the Bible in embarking on peer preaching. To assess the level of effectiveness of this preaching strategy, the author conducted a survey. The responses from the limited survey suggest that the prophetic imagination is a useful tool that heightens awareness of racial dysfunction and brings people to conversion and action.
