This resulted in only what alumni could do for Asbury, and not what Asbury could do for alumni. The outcome was low administrative expectations for alumni engagement and overall support of the seminary. This study based alumni engagement initiatives by the seminary on actual alumni desires, understanding alumni not merely as one of several constituencies of the seminary, but as a global metacommunity. The study was based on a biblical and historical framework, together with an understanding of contemporary approaches to alumni development. It utilized an Internet, self-administrated survey to understand the basic relationship between Asbury Seminary and its alumni. By understanding the needs and desires of its alumni, Asbury Seminary can unleash the deep affection that alumni have towards the seminary, providing mutual benefits to both the institution and to alumni themselves."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["6c1e11e8-b66e-47b6-8fe9-6c546c20935c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134173825597440,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:30:58.815Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:43:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:25:50Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"08b2f759-8543-46ac-adf6-695b0863f594","accessControl_ssim":["b0137273-060f-4420-8f94-c1cfcdf47c75"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Exploring internet use among the growing churches of the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:43:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:22:10Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3c952b59-59d7-4494-bee7-833f92333c3f"],"hasLease_ssim":["c4be60be-0310-4afe-bd83-7d6c644779f3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Leslie A Andrews"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brian C Burch"],"publisher_tesim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Computers in churches","Religion","Internet in church work","Church growth","Methodist Church (U.S.). The training of the 14 pastors took place in Nairobi, Kenya, in September 2002. The group had one year to put the principles learnt into practice. The class met twice after the one-year period to reevaluate the ten principles they had previously learnt. The project proved that it was possible to plant churches using the ten leadership principles gathered from Paul's speech at Miletus. 5 new churches were planted and the other 9 that had existed before this project began grew by 33% to 185%. The literature review focuses on the theological understanding of Jonah as a model for evangelizing the never churched as well as a discussion of postmodernism and Generation X. The research method was a survey of persons from eleven different churches. The research shows that the most effective ministry area for evangelism in the population studied is narrative evangelism, which is the process of a person sharing their experience of the gospel with someone they already know."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["6c1e11e8-b66e-47b6-8fe9-6c546c20935c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134239324897280,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:32:01.280Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:42:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:27:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"15dfb8a8-4832-4342-9a93-4871318d35f2","accessControl_ssim":["80e9462f-b077-4f32-bdfb-3c4a361a01c6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Growing in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and humanity: holistic Christian mentoring with a small group component"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:42:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:45:57Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b4ccf86f-de1c-450f-8cbf-aca494d43477"],"hasLease_ssim":["ab045596-ec07-464a-89f2-655ce9815e68"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Chris A Kiesling"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David P Koppel"],"publisher_tesim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Mentoring in church work","Spiritual formation","Church group work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this research was to evaluate the changes in spiritual well-being as a result of a program of holistic Christian mentoring with a small group component.
