The participants engaged in church growth opportunities and were surveyed based upon their participation. The project discovered that one of the hindrances to church growth is a lack of personal ownership and commitment of members in a new or existing church. The author used a seven point Likert scale to survey members and friends of EFC. Noteworthy data revealed by experiencing inclusion, hope, with open and affirming encouragement to seek Jesus, the people of EFC reported an increase in their self-image, spiritual maturity and relationship with Christ. This study determined through surveys, interviews, and research behaviors these pastors believed effective for church growth and the application of these behaviors in the church. The most important discovery that the author made was the state of disconnect among many pastors between what they believed about church growth and what was practiced in the local church. This state of disconnect may be a factor in church decline. He concluded that congregational regeneration requires a shift in attitude that intentionally gives primacy to the apostolic root of Christendom, rather than its evolved traditions and expressions. Intentionally giving precedence to Christ and his ministry is a mandatory antecedent to congregational regeneration.
