The congregation participated in a six-week course on biblical church discipline. Through surveys and focus groups, the project leaders was able to assess the effectiveness of the project. Understanding this teaching can help Christian believers orient themselves around the values and purposes of the kingdom.  The director designed an eight session study manual and preached four sermons on the kingdom of God and its implications for people's lives.  He used a focus group, tests and questionnaires to measure the effect of the study on the participants. The project director designed and implemented a three-part sermon series and seven-part training course to increase knowledge in the principles and practices of servant leadership.  Participants answered identical pre- and post-course questionnaires and a class assessment form.  Both reading and evaluation teams of educators analyzed the responses. This research showed that when people learn how to hear a sermon, they comprehend it differently.  The project testing tools were developed as quantitative measures of a control group's ability to hear and understand a sermon.  After measurement data were collected, they were used to determine project effectiveness.  After tools were developed, measurement models were used to test group learning in an actual setting. The participants indicated that they grew in their understanding and practice of intercessory prayer. The project director led a series of eight workshop sessions over a period of four months that had as its intention to equip the adult participants with the understanding of specific character qualities, and how to teach children to make these qualities a part of their lives.
