The researcher studied the biblical and theological natures of care and community and their interconnectedness to each other. He used qualitative research to conduct case studies of Ada Bible Church and North Point Community Church to identify transferable principles. In-depth interviews were conducted with 25 members of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) located in Crookston, Minnesota. The two topics of hearing the voice of God in community and consensus-based decision-making were explored. An action plan for the future ministry of the church was developed. A qualitative study was conducted using grounded theory. Interviews with church planting experts, church planters, and an online survey were the primary data sources. The online survey helped triangulate the data and provided a quantitative element to the research. This research found that relational connectedness was critical to people hearing, connecting, and staying in a new church. Theological study evaluated team relationships in the Bible. Literature review covered pastoral staffing issues in the contemporary church, focusing on partnering factors. Case studies at applicable churches involved surveys and in-person interviews of the pastors. Team vision, structure, management and accountability systems were lacking. A biblical unified teamwork model is the thesis outcome. Old and New Testament passages on teams and teamwork provided the foundation. Human resources, business, church and volunteer leadership literature complement the biblical study and theological reflection. Ethnographically oriented primary and secondary data culminated in sixty-three model recommendations. Recommendations for team structure, systems and maintaining healthy team relationships are addressed. Corporate leadership is discussed from Biblical, historical, and theological perspectives.  A broad theory is developed suggesting several consequences of team leadership that ultimately affect church growth.  Questionnaire responses assessing team relationship and church growth are correlated by computer analysis. Examination of some growing churches reveals pastor and leaders sharing significant time together.
