Statistical analysis failed to confirm the hypothesis. Instructional objectives are stated as learning outcomes and defined in terms of specific behaviors that students are expected to demonstrate.  The author attempts to identify various aspects of the evangelistic task from which specific component skills are extrapolated.  Measurements are accomplished by the use of performance observation and by a pre-test and post-test in the form of a semantic differential taken by participants and two control groups. The control group had no data.  They engaged in faith discussions and adminstered semantic differential scales. The study has shown that acceptability by the targeted audience and adequate educational quality are key factors for successful publication of materials. Demographic studies and a ministry attitude survey provide the data from which the conclusions are drawn. By using a semantic differential technique, responses to both metaphorical and propositional language were measured. The function of metaphor is examined in regard to clarity, emotion, beauty, imagination, detail, meaning and appeal. Both the statistical significance and practical significance of this are discussed.  The relationship of analogous language to cerebral specialization and logical positivism is noted. Analysis is made of the biblical prescriptive qualities and the descriptive qualities proposed by the Readiness for Ministry (ATS) project.  A historical review of theological education in North America provides the background for determining the ingredients essential for contemporary theological training. The functional analysis deals with the hypothesis that there will be no difference between growing and non-growing evangelical free churches in the Twin Cities as it relates to the vital signs. Random sampling was done on both categories of churches.  The data was evaluated using analysis of variance and descriptive statistical analysis. A detailed decadal statistical study of its largest 200 churches was made along with demographic and other cultural data to illustrate the trends that are presently acting upon its ministry. They are as follows: a general pattern of declining growth rates, increasing decay in its funding base, and a serious erosion of outreach
