The project consolidated educational classes and choir rehearsals for all ages into one night with a catered meal.  Analyzing a random sample survey, attendance records and evaluations, the author measured 0% to 44% increases in worship, choir, Sunday School and finances after ten months. The report describes the setting, First United Methodist Church of Champaign, Il, and gives the church's reasons for considering a computer.  The report tells of the decision to install a computer, training in its use, the gathering and loading of data, problems encountered, and the contribution which the computer has made to church administration.  The experience is compared with that of 19 other large churches using computers. The project appears in six chapters. Chapters I, II and III deal with observed conflict, biblical themes and shaping the workshop respectively. Chapter V suggests that the United Methodist Church has built into its political system a creative tension (conflict) which requires knowledge of conlflict management.
