It reflects on the verbal and nonverbal dialogue of the preaching event in a small group setting.  The project addresses the sense of alienation, observed in the nonverbal dialogue of the preaching event, that occurs between the congregation and the sermon, the Gospel and the scripture. The author recruits six United Methodist pastors to participate in a retreat and three reflection sessions.  Comparisons of pre-project and post-project impressions of participants indicate a genesis of community. Post-reflection reports reveal expanded insights into pastoral situations.
