The purpose of it was to test to what extent interculturality is vital and essential to the Dehonian charism, and how it can be effectively implemented within Priests of the Sacred Heart initial formation in the United States. Because this project deals with experience, culture, and tradition, the author has decided to employ the method of practical theology of James and Evelyn Whitehead.  The Whiteheads’ method encourages reflection upon these three elements of life, experience, culture, and tradition, and brings them into correlation to the moment of implementation. The result of this profound reflection and discernment emerges in a pastoral response. The testimony of the original Lesallian educational model, the contemporary canon of Lasallian texts, and the lived reality in God's mission field reveals the proper relation between education and justice in the Lesallian idiom. In conversation with experience, culture, and Christian faith, the project describes and analyzes the complexities of the Malaysian reality, bringing that reality into dialogue with Christian theology so that a pastoral response to the specific context can emerge.
