This spirituality is grounded in a consistent ethic of life that respects the inherent dignity of all persons. Statements against women's ordination have been made out of fearful reaction to decisions of the Episcopal Church. Using the Whitehead method, the author studies the experience of Episcopalians and the tradition of the Catholic Church, bringing these elements into conversation with aspects of democratic and clerical cultures. The People of Color at Evangelical College provide a rich account of their experience, which enters into dialogue with the field of higher education and the tradition of forgiveness and justice within the Christian tradition.
