Church documents, statements and pastoral strategies are examined and the significant contribution of the Basic Ecclesial Communities in the struggle against land violence is outlines. The contribution of the development of a local theology of land and struggle in enabling the victims to resist violence and injustice is studied. It is offered as a response to our new 'statement of directions' promulgated in September 1999, particularly to its section on internationality and cross-culture. Voices from the fields of cultural psychology, anthropology, theology and spirituality contribute to defining and clarifying the problems and possibilities that have emerged through distillation of the data gathered in the field study and through the surveys conducted. Various aspects of the women's lives are read: the broader ANZ and Archdiocesan context in which they teach, the spiritual landscape and in particular the geographic landscape which they inhabit. Also explored are the ways in which these women read the Bible. The final chapter presents a plan of a resource to enable women to read the Bible and the landscape together for their spiritual enrichment. The nature of this thesis-project is to explore and enhance the Eucharistic spirituality of liturgical ministers in the context of a retreat. A praxis-theory-praxis model of theological reflection based on the method of Thomas Groome is employed. Current spirituality is named and critiqued by the metaphor of the Eucharist as gift-exchange. This use of this metaphor is a theologically sound image capable of enhancing the religious imaginations of those who serve their liturgical assemblies. The mutual critical dialogue among the three sources resulted in recommendations for a renewed ministry to parishioners in behalf of spirituality. Two basic themes out of which the recommendations were generated were: 1) the image of the Church as a community of disciples, and 2) small faith communities. The Whitehead model (Method in Ministry 1995) is used. Chapter one presents a brief history of seminary formation and selected current ecclesial documents. Chapter two focuses on mid-life and faith development theories. Chapter three contains student and alumni survey data. Chapter four brings the components into dialogue.
