The project uses information obtained from an extensive review of the literature on adult education and the Baptist deacon. It examines such skills as leadership, group management, conflict management, and church family ministry needs.  The material first is presented pedagogically.  An andragogical section follows which presents practical uses of the material.  Some positive results are obtained. The method pursued to gather data for this study was personal interviews guided by a pre-tested, uniform questionnaire. The conclusion reached was that the above thesis is true. It also tests the use of instrumentations (the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the Blake-Mouton Managerial Grid and a Money Behavior Inventory) in the collection and use of data from 10 pastors and 100 laity.  The paper includes sections on stewardship theology, leadership theory, research methodology, and data analysis.
