Often, these churches are left floundering without any clear sense of direction while they are going through their pastoral transition.  When this occurs the church is often thrown into a state of almost total disarray, confusion, and chaos.  During these periods the church suffers greatly. Unfortunately it often takes a long time for the church to recover from the setbacks which may have transpired during the pastoral transition period. Presently, there is no homogeneous process used throughout the organization for filling pastoral vacancies.  While the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World has a written policy and procedure for filling such vacancies, this policy is not always accepted as the preferred or even viable method. When the written policy and procedure is used the church sometimes ends up a divided house and in litigation. In my thesis, I have gathered and analyzed data and information regarding pastoral transitions in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.  I have subsequently developed a pastoral leadership manual in which I set forth several models for filling pastoral vacancies.  It is hoped that the use of such models by membership churches can help alleviate the problem described above. In order to continue this proclamation church leadership needs to be intentional about making disciples.  This paper stresses returning to this practive which is a role of the church.  Various methods and models of disciple making and leadership development are critiqued from an African American Baptist congregation context.  In exploring these models on how this may be done, disciple making and church leadership training are viewed as inseparable. Making use of a spirituality assessment tool developed from a contextual practical theology, the project measures the effects of praxis ministry on spiritual disposition (including perceptions of God, faith, and mission).  The research indicates that the method is effective in accomplishing this goal. New Testament leadership values are described.  The change in Session responsibilities from John Calvin to the present are reviewed.  The rationale for using Carver's model is explained.  Steps taken to implement the model are documented. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the success of the Discipleship program and consider what needs to be changed and continued. The project design includes both an experimental and an analytical mode.  The procedures used in evaluating include a survey as well as personal interviews. The research indicates that the Discipleship program is successful. After discussing anger, especially the affect theory of Silvan S. Tomkins, it presents traditional undertandings of adolescent development and identifies new findings regarding female development, beginning with the work of Carol Gilligan.  A case study provides a view of specific clinical work with a female adolescent struggling to speak her anger.
