This project explored alternatives that can be implemented at Cumberland UMC and other churches facing similar challenges. Surveys/questionnaires, one on one discussion sessions and     small group discussion sessions were utilized to assist the researchers in this process. Six men who were involved in Christian men's mentorship ministry programmes in Jamaica were interviewed to ascertain what social benefits, spiritual benefits, and personal development benefits can be derived from a men's mentorship programme in the Jamaican context. The study is a basic qualitative research. An interview schedule was developed and administered over a two month period, the data was analyzed, and benefits/themes identified. It uses narrative qualitative methodology as described by Sharam Merriam. The main method of collecting data is interview. This project addresses the pastoral care visitation in the circuit. Traditional didactic classroom instruction is not always sufficient, because it does not provide an opportunity for elders to apply what they have learned. To compensate for this lack of experiential learning, role-play was incorporated into elder training in a particular congregation, resulting in the conclusion that role-play is a useful training tool in certain situations. O'Connor to establish a theological framework for understanding autistic individuals and those who love and care for them.
