This project focuses on three congregations and how they responded to the inclusion of popular culture in worship and small group studies. This report surveys three churches that engaged popular culture as a lens through which to encounter God and a way to see God active in the world around them. Especially, this project will uncover how Korean Worship \u0026 Music Conference, which is targeted at Korean churches, seeks lay leadership, as well as uncovering how in reality it is applied in the field ministry. At such a crossroads they may lose the joy of the adventure of faith alongside any deeper understanding of what happens in worship. This project focuses on such a congregation. The project explores how a theology of play may deepen understandings of worship and allow for the recover of a joyful attitude about a church's life together. This research project explores possible reasons behind this discontinuity as well as potential avenues of greater sacramental awareness consistent with Reformed theology. A general overview of the history of sacramental liturgical theology is followed by an invitation to return to early ecclesial liturgical practices. This research project proposes the possibility that liturgical elements of worship can serve to connect these worldviews.  Worship theology, history, and practice are the basis for analyzing the worship practices in a particular congregation from modern and postmodern perspectives. Churches need to practice the Eucharist in spaces other than church sanctuaries, and space in sanctuaries should be organized to embody meanings of the Eucharist. Churches should also embody in the Eucharist a Christian understanding and practice of time rather than an American time orientation. Expressional practical is developed as a Reformed model of worship and education which joins participation, symbol, reflection, and formation.  Options for implementation are offered.
