A pastor who wants to equip people to be missional sees that they are already participating in God’s mission through their vocations. This qualitative research involved interviewing eight pastors who are leading their congregants to be missional in their vocations. The literature review explored the mission of God’s people and a theology of vocation. The interviews discovered what pastors attempted to help people be missional though their vocations, what challenges they faced, and their results. The purpose of this study was to explore how pastors' conduct of corporate worship services helps congregants connect the practice of baptism to the pursuit of spiritual formation. The study employed qualitative research methods and used a semi-structured protocol to interview six demographically diverse pastors. The study employed a qualitative research design and a semi-structured interview protocol, utilizing interviews with six pastors. The researcher found that a christocentric worldview was comprised of the unified story of God's redemption of his creation, motivation and empowerment by Christ in the Christian life, transformation at the heart level, and participation in God's restoration of man's relationship with God, others, and the creation. In addition, preaching as a communication method is questioned pragmatically, but trusted in a spiritual sense. Also, primary hindrances include challenges of alternative worldview stories, fragmentary hearing, and disconnected preachers. The data was analyzed using the constant comparative method. The study is based on qualitative research that included in-depth interviews with nine ministers in the Washington, DC area. It is supported by literature reviews related to transformational learning theory, a biblical case study from the life of Simon Peter, and findings from research that relate to pastoral ministry. Analysis revealed areas in which the ministers' understanding coincided with this theory. It also revealed gaps in their knowledge.
