The project seeks to determine the overall effectiveness of the curriculum in three key areas: grounding the community in understanding the significance of what it is to be “in Christ,” providing opportunities for small groups to cultivate a desire to both know and be known within the context of a trusted community, and finally to cultivate an environment wherein a burden of care is embraced and felt within said community. The research centers on qualitative interviews with participants in the Beta launch of the Community Foundations curriculum. The Beta launch occurred between Spring 2018 and Fall 2019. Three hypotheses geared around the key areas addressed above are presented and evaluated through the content of the recorded interviews. The research results indicate deeper and more sustainable relationships were cultivated through these small group experiences as well as a new appreciation for the value of shared story in the context of community."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130958004486144,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:39:51.969Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:27:58Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:35:14Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9b9c34d5-1615-4f23-a7d4-73581cf9a98e","accessControl_ssim":["8c2f3d63-3938-4b3a-a8bd-617cb45d10e4"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Evaluating a Biblical Program for Family Education in Cleansing Stream Ministries"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:27:58Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:40:59Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["71bcafa8-7b0e-4114-8cc1-c3c73e421cb2"],"hasLease_ssim":["9bdb8d7b-c03e-44ca-80d7-e7efd7d26fe8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Educational Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Edward W. These two principles intersect and form a point of reestablishment in the marriages of believers from a Muslim background (BMBs). Islamic contractual marriage ideas remain in marital relationships of BMBs. The intent of this study is to explore and understand the influence of Islamic contractual marriage on believers who now embrace the ideas of Christian covenant marriage. The qualitative research will explore the believers’ understanding of their Islamic contractual marriage and their beliefs concerning biblical covenant marriage. BMBs retain a contractual view of marriage because they have not applied the ideas of covenant marriage, thereby affecting negatively their spousal relationships. Additionally, the use of certain cultural and religious terms reinforces their understanding of their marital relationship, often reflecting either a contractual or covenant perspective. For BMBs and missionaries there is a deficiency of available literature that compares and explains the differences between the Islamic and biblical views of marriage. The critical balance between church and family in relation to God's kingdom was considered, with the conclusion that God's purpose for the family and the church should be observed through the lens of His kingdom program. A major goal of the project was to determine how the church could build stronger families, so the composition of a strong family was delineated. Healthy families were considered from a sociological and biblical viewpoint and six essential traits were presented as the benchmark for evaluating a church's ministry to families. A case study of Immanuel Bible Church was undertaken in order to learn more about how one church was ministering to families, thus providing a practical element to the research process. The combination of biblical studies, family studies, and a field study furnishes the reader with the fundamental ingredients for a theology of family ministry in the local church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129875685310464,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:22:39.789Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":4,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"Dissertation","hits":3,"label":"Dissertation"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Aijia Song","hits":1,"label":"Aijia Song"},{"value":"Brad L Henderson","hits":1,"label":"Brad L Henderson"},{"value":"David L Parrish","hits":1,"label":"David L Parrish"},{"value":"James B Logan","hits":1,"label":"James B Logan"},{"value":"Nakhati Jon","hits":1,"label":"Nakhati Jon"},{"value":"Sten-Erik Armitage","hits":1,"label":"Sten-Erik Armitage"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Church and community","hits":1,"label":"Church and community"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Church work with families","hits":7,"label":"Church work with families"},{"value":"Christian education","hits":2,"label":"Christian education"},{"value":"Education--Curricula","hits":2,"label":"Education--Curricula"},{"value":"African American families","hits":1,"label":"African American families"},{"value":"Bible--Theology","hits":1,"label":"Bible--Theology"},{"value":"Bible.
