The expectation was that exposure to alternatives to Darwinist explanations of origin in high school would result in religious practice in college and that there would be a negative correlation between a student's attitude toward Darwinism as an explanation and church attendance. An online survey of thirty-two questions was conducted on one-hundred seventy-five respondents. In 1996 when the research began the college had no means of evaluating and assessing the spiritual formation program. The desire was to develop and test an assessment tool for the spiritual formation of students at LCC.  The hypothesis was that LCC was accomplishing its goals in spiritual formation.  The research methodology sought to develop and test the tool form an initial pretest in May, 1996 and a posttest in May, 2000.  The pretest/posttest model was employed, supported by interviews, and a spiritual well-being instrument. The descriptions of the spiritual life in scripture provide a measuring stick for spiritual growth assessment. This research included a survey tool which allowed college alumni to rate their spiritual progress in thirty key areas. This tool also solicited feedback on the effectiveness of college programs and personnel towards the students' perceived spiritual formation. On average, the alumni reported spiritual growth in twenty-nine areas.
