This dissertation shows how one church in Norman, Oklahoma intentionally developed a strategy to leverage electronic media resources in an attempt to further their chief discipleship goals related to helping people worship, connect, and serve. The hypotheses anticipated that participation in the electronic media program would reveal a positive relationship in sermon retention and application, experience of group life, and involvement in service. To determine the validity of these hypotheses, a pre-test/post-test was designed to evaluate the change in sixty demographically diverse participants after a one-month period in the electronic media program in July 2010. After the results of the survey were examined, the hypothesis concerning a positive relationship between participation in the electronic media program and sermon retention and application was confirmed. However, a statistical analysis of the data did not confirm the two hypotheses that predicted a positive relationship between participation in the electronic media program and an improved experience of group life and involvement in service."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130707817398272,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:35:53.371Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:41:08Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:25:12Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"25b15497-64d1-42e3-907e-568e8821acdc","accessControl_ssim":["27e3217a-cd82-4cec-b0b1-5387f75699d6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Case studies of selected missional churches that examine strategies used to engage the unchurched in post-Christendom context"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:41:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:14:25Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["cd99234f-e347-4f21-8e2e-6a90c9fb1aae"],"hasLease_ssim":["f66737fe-1ce7-4692-a04d-ba8d567f70bd"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Barry Jones","Eddie Gibbs"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Mike L McDaniel"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Christianity and culture","Mission of the church","Civilization, Secular","Church and the world"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The thesis of this dissertation is to show how selected churches effectively engage the post-Christendom culture of North America. The desire to do this research comes from the biblical mandate given by the Lord Jesus Christ to make disciples (Matt 28:19-20). Developing God's people into leaders who demonstrate Christ-like character is not only the greatest need in the world today, but also in today's church; therefore, developing competent spiritual leadership through discipleship must be its top priority. The following questions are answered: What can churches do to prepare men and women to develop into godly leaders? What can Waukegan Community Church do to become a disciple-making reproducing church? Will Discipleship for leadership make a significant contribution in helping Waukegan Community Church become a disciple-making, leader-developing church? The conclusions reached at the end of this research project validated Ewing's approach for Waukegan Community Church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131114428956672,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:42:21.147Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:18:13Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:40:59Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d627260a-d648-4982-94b1-bce39f645004","accessControl_ssim":["143fe93c-7bd1-477c-a5d4-4491ebf1bae9"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The Filipino value 'shame' within ministry leadership"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:18:12Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:15:15Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b3494e69-338a-42d4-b844-ea26b11c8381"],"hasLease_ssim":["8150a4d4-8e1f-4680-a817-684ea9bbdd4b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Larry J Waters"],"year_tesim":["2009"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Russell Butch Diwa"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Christianity and culture","Shame","Filipino Americans"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This applied research project focuses on the effects of the Filipino value 'shame' in ministry leadership.
