Five double-blind experiments using written exercises tested that hypothesis in small groups at Four Oaks Community Church in Tallahassee, Florida. Questionnaires, focus groups, and interviews further explored the plausibility of the hypothesis. Neither the quantitative nor the qualitative measures were able to establish the hypothesis conclusively.
