Through a retreat, participants engaged in embodied spiritual practices that promote rest as a tool for spiritual formation and transformation that is rooted in decolonizing theology and spiritual practices. Working in collaboration with The Board of Young Peoples Ministry and the Hispanic /Latino Ministry of the Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church, the retreat model was reviewed by the committees for use in the work of spiritual formation for Black and Latinx Young Adults. Mt. Hope Baptist Church is a historically African American church nestled in a moderately rural Virginia community, which is in the midst of an enormous population, socioeconomic, and demographic transition. How will this community transition impact Mt. Hope? The purpose of the research was to determine what effect, if any, a relational meeting campaign and two multicultural, multiracial Christian education classes would have on incorporating multicultural, nonblack attendees into the life of Mt. Hope Baptist Church. The research determined that the threshold to incorporate multicultural, nonblack attendees into the life of Mt. Hope Baptist church has been traversed. In this denomination, many clergy serve the church beyond their cultures and ethnicity through cross-cultural/cross-racial appointments. Iowa is one of the conferences with a good representation of clergy from ethnic minority groups. This project critically assesses the effectiveness of the current process of preparing both congregations and pastors for cross-cultural/cross-racial appointments in Iowa. These were implemented in the local church, Chicago metropolitan area, and as a national youth leadership program.  This project included a nationwide questionnaire survey which identified needs and problems of Korean youth, and is based on study of the transition of biculturalism of Korean immigrants, with special reference to youth-parent relationships.  It is grounded in a 'vision theology' for Korean immigrants that has both theoretical and practical aspects.
