The project is theologically grounded on the church as body of Christ and people of God and continuing Christ's ministry as diakonia. This ministry is based on a theology for aging which gives attention to security, self-indulgence, stewardship, service, and spirituality.  An older adult council was organized and trained to interview 148 older adults, finding them healthy, active, and affluent Christians claiming interesting, meaningful lives. This project sought to carry out an experiment in caring ministry by training laypersons to care for the aged in the Donam community in Seoul, Korea. The results of pre- and posttests showed that the attitudes and beliefs of these laypersons regarding the nature and function of the church were significantly changed through participation in caring ministry. It was based on research gathered from the fields of Christian ethics, gerontology, decision-making, and interviews with those working through these decisions.  Pre- and post-assessments measured participants' cognitive learnings. The five workshops dealt with group decision-making dynamics and alternatives, issues facing the aged, and options for care.  Objectives were to contribute material beneficial to the participants.  Goals were to educate participants on the issues of the aging, care options, and a process of ethical decision-making.
