Members of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest will be surveyed through an online questionnaire and focus groups regarding their own values and practices in philanthropy and where they believe their local church should be involved in mission. It was based on research gathered from the fields of Christian ethics, gerontology, decision-making, and interviews with those working through these decisions.  Pre- and post-assessments measured participants' cognitive learnings. The five workshops dealt with group decision-making dynamics and alternatives, issues facing the aged, and options for care.  Objectives were to contribute material beneficial to the participants.  Goals were to educate participants on the issues of the aging, care options, and a process of ethical decision-making. The purpose was to improve faith resources for contemporary Christians.  In a series of ten lessons the project presented biographical statements and spiritually relevant issues.  A seven step decision-making process was the uniting theme.  Methods employed were sermons, pictures, role-playing, discussion, pre- and post-tests, and evaluation questionnaires.
