A pre-test/post-test design is employed to test the hypothesis that there would be improvement in the areas of: 1) affective communication; 2) problem solving communication; and 3) global stress.  The 'Marital Satisfaction Inventory' is used before the weekend and ten weeks later to determine whether change occurs. Test results are supplemented by four individual interviews.
