The project results were mixed, but mostly encouraging. Project participants were challenged and stretched regarding their attitudes, perceptions and theology. They became aware of essential diversity issues and personal behaviors that were incongruent with appropriate belief. They were inspired and empowered to participate and take ownership in initiating change of their own culture. These are transferred to the church to determine a successful church.  By determining what these expectations are, the pastors and the author could design and modify programs to meet some of these expectations.  The major work of the project was done with the pastor and a workshop in each church.  The participants in the workshop indicated in various ways their cultural expectations for success. Barriers are not in God's designs for humanity or in the body of Christ. Culture shapes a person's perception of other people.  Human barriers are learned attributes.  The Holy Spirit equips Christians with a new nature capable of unlearning social barriers in an environment that is conducive to positive personal interactions.  Small groups are proven tools for enhancing human relationships. Two progressive steps accomplish this goal. First, endorsement of multicultural ministry applying to all areas of church life is secured through official action by the church. The church's written position on multicultural ministry makes it possible for emerging multiethnic leaders to function in the church. Second, a leadership development seminar is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed for leadership development in the multicultural context. Participants are trained in leadership principles relating to culture, character, and competency. The participants are already functioning leaders in the church and enter into mentoring relationships with potential leaders of a different ethnic background than their own.
