Since hip-hop culture with its music core values are consistent with postmodern generational values, it was deemed useful as a model to identify some key principles and methods for outreach ministry. This project began with one month of leadership training workshops to prepare the church for this ministry. Following this were two months of bi-weekly hip-hop worship services and hip-hop outing to various hip-hop events. It was hypothesized that Jungian Personality Type Theory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator could be effective means for enhancing students' self-understanding.  A teaching program was designed to study the effects.  A quasi-experimental method and a portfolio assessment of students learning were employed.  The findings indicated affirmative but not conclusive evidence. They were led through Ken Blanchard's three keys to empowerment -- sharing information, clarifying boundaries to create autonomy, and developing teams to replace the hierarchy. This project provides laymen with a short-term introduction to and training in ministry to commuter college students.  Lay volunteers from several churches served four hours one day a week for six weeks in six ministry activities on campus.  The project took place during the first six weeks of the school year on a commuter college campus comprised of three institutions with a total enrollment of 33,000 students. It grew out of the director's need to build a team to lead the church in building and relocating to a new facility and his need to encourage team-building skills.  A three-day retreat and four monthly workshops were created to train the team in biblical team-building concepts. The primary area to which the project relates is in disciple making of Digo believers with oral learning preferences.  At the conclusion of the project all of the participants had demonstrated the ability to learn and retell biblical narratives to others and to explain theological concepts found within the narratives.
