The goal is to produce a guidebook for leaders of these small churches addressing the unique challenges of ministry in a small church with a part time pastor. To this end, the role of part time ministers is explored, both historical and contemporary. This work include personal interviews along with a review of related literature. This thesis argues that a greater number of youth can be retained if the preachers have a positive ethos with the youth. This thesis analyzes the Armenian evangelical community and outlines reasons for both negative and positive ethos. Through personal experience, interviews and surveys, a clearer picture of the role of the preacher emerges. The research findings reveal that the institutional leadership brought by the early British missionaries to Africa served its purpose at the time. However, as we move into the 21st century, this mode of leadership becomes inadequate for the church and Tidings of Faith. The research revealed that institutional leadership has failed to address all the questions of leadership distance between clergy and laity, that the clergy have been saddled with the work of running almost every aspect of the ministry while the laity almost always become spectators, and there has been no conscious attempt within this ministry to train laity for future leadership continuity. The researcher proposed team leadership as an effective and up-to-date option for Tidings of Faith in the years ahead. This thesis-project was a leadership awareness study of the nature of power and authority in the role of pastoral leadership in which the biblical and theological perspectives on the issue of pastoral authority were explored. While we rejoice for this open door and the opportunity for the gospel, we also see the challenges in establishing the new believers in the biblical faith as wll as the development of leaders for the emerging churches. The challenge of developing leaders becomes more complex as many of them are oral learners. One of the ways to face the challenge is to use oral methods in training leaders. This thesis describs the opportunities and challenges in Bihar, India. It surveys mission history, particularly focused on the Bihar Reach-Out Network. It builds a biblical and theological foundation for consideration of orality. The conclusions of this study suggest that biblical teamwork occurs when the cause of Christ is advanced in the contet of loving community. It suggests that preachers can play a role in bringing about transformation in the area of justice by stressing the importance of justice in scripture and in the life of the believer.
