Details of the cases were examined thoroughly, using document analysis methodology known as 'Constant Comparison' to demonstrate major themes in the change experience. The change experience of this staff was assessed using a survey tool, and then reviewed from the point of view of the theology and literature outlined in the paper. The results of the study are nine valid outcomes regarding the application of change management principles in the context of the staff studied. A primary premise of this research is that ethnic churches -- in this particular case, Brazilian churches -- have the potential of greatly helping immigrants to adapt to their new environment and to counteract the stress of the immigration experience, assimilation and adaptation (introduction and chapter one). This work was developed following a systemic approach and guided by three nurturing questions that originated from Eldin Villafañe's 'hermeneutical circle of social ethics' (clarification, conceptualization and confrontation). Pastoral actions and reflections on dealing with the issues related to this study emerged from our understanding of systematic theology and the investigation of other pertinent sources (chapters two and three). The goal of the learning team and the exercise called 'hexagon process' was to look at how these Brazilian churches can develop ministries that will create positive and lasting results, and the possible scenarios where the ethnic churches can intervene (chapter four). Outcome and further researches were suggested with the intent of broadening the understanding in the field of ethnic churches and how to help post first generation immigrants (chapter five)."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130919833174016,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:39:15.565Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:29:52Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:20:39Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"036043a3-5f80-4c2a-894d-ab41174fc105","accessControl_ssim":["7bbba42b-d8a7-4274-a7a0-401133961dcb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Kingdom leadership: the journey of a burned-out evangelical to hopeful revivalist"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:29:52Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:13:05Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c4268baa-4431-4ee4-a8a4-ade91407c923"],"hasLease_ssim":["5f888898-d477-4e8c-af69-3a18c16bfbb2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Eugene A Heacock"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Kingdom of God","Hope","Burn out (Psychology)","Evangelicalism","Pastoral theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this work is to present the biblical theme of the kingdom of God as the central model for Christian leadership, congregational life, mission, and cultural transformation. The kingdom offers an alternative paradigm in contrast to established evangelical forms grounded in human wisdom and understanding. Through biblical paradigms and statistical research, the author describes the condition of early 21st-century American Christianity. Through the use of systems thinking and cultural diagnosis he defines what he terms the 'seven deadly D's' of American church life. The kingdom of God is presented as the only theological systemic approach to remedy these maladies. This work is unique in its pastoral perspective, narrative style, and cognitive processing. Understanding the kingdom and learning to live and lead within a kingdom framework will equip many evangelical pastors, leaders, and laypeople to progress from personal burnout toward a more hopeful position. The significance of this work is in recovering the kingdom of God as the necessary biblical corrective to modern evangelical leadership formation and church practice. This includes implications for the rethinking of evangelicalism, a new approach to theology, and the formation of multidimensional leadership. This will assist 21st-century Christian leaders in dealing with complexity, diversity, changing spiritual paradigms, and interdenominational unity. It offers hope as new fuel and a kingdom model as a cognitive construct as well as recommendations for application."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129752786960384,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:20:42.584Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:29:52Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:41:42Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"636e041e-94d2-4b7b-971a-22e5f0fee286","accessControl_ssim":["85a639e7-c99e-4fa5-b8d4-e091600a6a95"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preparing for mutuality in ministry and mission in the border context of the Californias"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:29:51Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:02:31Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2ee3cafb-3172-4b02-8fac-aa830c2b7ae7"],"hasLease_ssim":["628136ae-ce50-49d8-9445-6f27c499cbcf"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"location_tesim":["Mexico"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Timothy D Long"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Seminario Bautista Dios con Nosotros (Mexicali, Mexico)","American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A","Power (Social sciences)","Religious education"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Can effective theological preparation that exemplifies and fosters mutuality be done in a California border context? If the seminary is to adequately prepare for mutuality in ministry, innovations are needed at all levels of seminary life -- its purpose statement, personnel, programs, basic curriculum, faculty, and administration."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131076974870528,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:41:45.428Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:29:52Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:36:02Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4801b9f5-98ee-4711-8376-89c8d59a9665","accessControl_ssim":["8ebc2d5f-89da-4f91-b250-157a697d6bd2"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Becoming more Christ-like through the practice of essential spiritual disciplines: a manual for the A.
