The Transtheoretical model derived from studies of addictions and best-of-practice interviews supplied training insights. Can the addition of professional staff bring this about? This thesis is a review of seven churches that have multi-staff ministry settings. Five of the churches used to be solo-pastorates in their recent past. The impact of the addition of staff members to these churches is evaluated. The research discovered adding staff does impact the numerical and spiritual growth of congregations. This thesis explores sociological, historical and theological-interpretive factors that have created this situation. Data show that most ministry to women is social, child-care or service oriented, yet many women desire excellent teaching, experiences in spiritual formation and development of their gifts. These East-West partnerships face many challenges: older Mission Boards who have little local experience and firmly entrenched approaches of the Venn and Williams three-self model, cultural challenges, leadership changes, historical challeges, and financial challenges. How healthy is a partnership model? What exaclty is a partnership model? Which scriptures address a partnership model? Why will older mission strategies of the past not work in the Balkans? Are these partnerships helpful or hurtful? What is most needed to progress? These are questions addressed in this thesis. Consumerism is analyzed through its history and through its present key features, including the loss of certainty, individualism, choice, consumption, and commodification. By looking at individualism, branding and shopping, identity in a consumeristic world is examined. The answer lies in the adoption of practices, as defined by Alistair McIntyre. Hospitality, which is given as a model of practice, is examined starting from its biblical roots up to current proposals. In order to gain data about respondents' doctrines of gender equality, survey research and analysis were utilized to assess different aspects of gender foundations: gender roles, ideology identification, and leadership practices in the church. The research yielded a sample of 195 millennial evangelicals between the ages of 18-25. These statistics identify that there is an emerging reality in evangelical culture: a disparity between the teaching of the church and the theological convictions of young adults. Young evangelicals express interest in understanding biblical manhood and biblical womanhood. They are reading books, listening to sermons, and engaging in conversations with peers and mentors about these topics. Within this sample, millennials were coming to conclusions that women are equally gifted with men.
