There is observable evidence of adaptive and resonant leadership. He also wanted to determine if a focused study of one theological school of thought, process theology, could be a catalyst for leadership development.  Following the seven-month program, two members of the project team offered ministries of their own.  The group's focus on process theology, though having little effect on the members' theological positions, did have a positive effect of increasing their attentiveness to the nuances of theological understandings. Cultural change, if not initiated or fed by a crisis, is very difficult. These concepts are related to scriptural examples and theological and moral principles. There was a need to create a new financial management system, restore confidence from the congregation, and inspire the congregation for continued growth. Not only did this situation impede the growth of the congregation, but also there was a concern regarding the role of the board of trustees in the management of the church's finances over against the board of stewards' role regarding church finances. A conflict over keys underscores changing identity, leadership, power and authority issues in growing churches. Arlin Rothauge's 'pastoral' and 'program' church theory explains that change.  The author argues for a cyclical view of transition.  Four events on identity, spiritual formation, leadership and future directions are described. Modest success is shown in moving towards the program church.  A second conflict shows major success in becoming a program-sized church. Women may not be adequately prepared to assume such leadership positions.  Power and authority are important issues identified by women in pastoral ministry.  Feminist understandings of power and authority are examined from theological, historical and psychological perspectives. Principles of a feminist theory and theology of leadership are applied to case studies of women currently ministering in solo pastor, senior pastor and co-pastor positions.
