It is the author's belief that the key to the revitalization of the church, spiritual and numerical, is effective evangelism. Yet in most local churches evangelism is not taught or practiced, given little or no financial support, and in many cases discouraged by pastors and denominational hierarchy. Through this Doctor of Ministry project Pastor Tom Vencuss developed and implemented a program of evangelism designed to develop a greater understanding of, and desire to do, evangelism within a mainline congregation. The purpose was to facilitate Christian-Muslim dialogue in a post-9/11 America. The project brought together Christian women interested in engaging with Muslim women. The methodology speaks to the observation that Muslim women tend to speak more freely with groups that do not include men. As a result, the dialogue reached levels of exploration that involved faith, perspectives of justice, better understanding, and quests for peace towards loving one another through differences. In conclusion, I envision other Christian communities using this project for interreligious
