This study tests the hypotheses that parenting groups increase family satisfaction, and secondly, when compared to other methods of teaching, genograms are more helpful.  Ten parents were measured for family satisfaction before and after the group.  Participants ranked the helpfulness of genograms in comparison to other methods.  Results showed that the group using genograms improved family satisfaction.  Secondly, participants reported that genograms were only moderately helpful in comparison to other aspects of the class. The purpose of this quantitative and qualitative research project was to determine those factors which contributed to this chasm between youth and church and make recommendations to address the problem.  Based on survey returns, barriers to youth participation were identified. Nine elders spent four months studying Bible passages related to spiritual gifts. To do this one must provide alternative images of power, to widen one's comprehension of God.  the study uses surveys and discussion groups to evaluate the results. A thirteen session curriculum identifies and explores the elements and application of this Relational Ethic to interpersonal relationships and establishes relational guidelines between the course participants.
