Drawing upon the theological and historical Lord's Supper/Communion interpretation and New Testament doctrine of 'the priesthood of believers' and Baptist doctrine of 'local church autonomy,' the author develops a successful ongoing lay homebound communion ministry which effectively promotes intergenerational congregational understanding and interaction.  Training in pastoral care and homebound communion ministry are developed, described and evaluated. Training was by means of lecture, role play, discussion and reflection.  Evaluation of the course was done by participants and by leader.  The course drew heavily from clinical pastoral education.
