On the premise that serious adherence to baptismal vows requires intentional, ongoing spiritual formation, the manual begins with baptismal vows and proceeds to prayer in the New Testament, personal rule of life, community/group spiritual formation, and contemporary issues. The biblical/historical/theological question of infant baptism is discussed.  A process is then developed for the discipling of parents to give them an opportunity to make a credible profession of faith at the time of their child's baptism.  The primary training is done by lay people.  A case study method was used in the evaluation of the program. The author is Episcopalian, and suggestions are made to adapt the model for any paedo-baptist denomination.
