The writings of Luther, Calvin, Packer, Newbigin, and Kirkwood were researched for their theological implications for ministry in church and state. Christian chaplains and supervisors were interviewed to describe their ministries. Attitudes and behaviors of church members often tend to have an inward focus rather than an outward, invitational perspective. This dissertation examines the depth of this problem as well as the effectiveness of the implementation of a particular Bible study series as a tool for cultivating a healthy missional culture in the context of a specific congregation. Fifteen local Mennonite pastors were given a descriptive survey to help gather qualitative data to identify factors that may hinder their congregation's ability to effectively reach out to the local community. A similar survey was designated and administered to a test group of Towamencin Mennonite church members to assess the missional readiness of the congregation. From the data collected from these surveys, an eight-week Bible study series was developed and implemented as a research tool. Weekly surveys were used to assess the immediate effectiveness of each Bible study. A final survey was implemented at the end of the project to assess the effects of the Bible studies on the overall attitudes and behaviors of the group. For the purpose, first of all, this thesis-project examines the past and present of the Korean Protestant Church. Secondly, this thesis-project explores the spirituality of the Korean Protestant Church and the cultural factors which influenced Christianity in Korea. Thirdly, this thesis-project observes the place of the Bible in the Christian tradition and lectio divina in Guigo II's book, The Ladder of Monks. Fourthly, this thesis-project examines the relationship between lectio divina and non-Christian Korean culture, Korean Protestant spirituality. This thesis-project also suggests both an individual lectio divina and communal lectio divina for the Korean Protestant Church. Generations need to nurture and be nurtured, to teach and be taught; and to mobilize these common human needs. A cohort of Episcopalians and members of a Messianic Jewish synagogue in the Fort Worth-Dallas area who associated in worship and fellowship are examined. The study considers theological issues concerning Jewish identity in the Church and their place in the economy of salvation. The project model develops a method of biblical study that allows the lay person to engage his secular counterpart with the gospel, while at the same time enriching his own theological understanding of the Christian faith.  It results in the creation of a home Bible study that provides the believer with material that engages the unbeliever with the saving claims to Christ.    The project analyzes the biblical teachings of Jesus concerning discipleship as evangelism, studies the influence of Charles G. Finney and his connection to 'decisional regeneration,' critiques several discipleship programs, and proposes the creation of the home Bible study as a possible
