Conversations with the children’s ministry team, parents, child participants, and the senior pastor of Victory indicated that changes needed to be implemented in order to grow the ministry. This project used a case study methodology, focusing on a church with similar demographics as Victory, to discover the underlying factors needed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Victory’s children’s ministry. To test the working theory that an increase in resources, team leadership, and parental involvement leads to increased effectiveness and efficiency, surveys were sent to three children’s ministry leaders from the case study church. Interviews were then conducted to follow up on survey responses. The resulting quantitative and qualitative data was analyzed using the Qualtrics platform. Believing scripture affirms sexuality as a blessing from God, parents and middle school youth were recruited and led through the study. Surveys measured attitudes, opinions, and understanding of biblical knowledge, anatomy, and communication levels. After the program the families were given two months to observe parent/child communication. Suicide is a major problem confronting every branch of the military. This study focuses on Airmen in the enlisted rank of E-4 to E-5. These Airmen are entering the ranks of the non-commissioned officer corps. Each participant was presented with a survey immediately before and after the safeTALK class to measure its effectiveness in making them more alert to the possibility of suicide, their confidence to ask directly about suicide, and connect those at risk with a keep safe connection. Sixty days after the class, another survey was sent by e-mail to examine the participant's retention of lessons learned in safeTALK and their willingness and ability to implement the steps for a successful intervention. Those who identified themselves as having personally experienced suicide through the attempted suicide or death of a loved one were asked to sit down for an interview with the author. Lessons learned from those who agreed to be interviewed were used to examine how their personal experience affected their motivation to help a person at risk and gauge safeTALK's effectiveness. Surveys went to clergy, and to inter-denominational families assessing the impact of denominational identity, prevalence, acceptance of inter-denominational families, the influence of congregational size, ministerial attitude, and individual family perceptions. Three findings resulted. First, participating inter-denominational families were long-time or life-time members of their faith communities. Second, inter-denominational families are present in most churches regardless of size or denomination, and they garner spiritual enrichment from all church communities in which they participate. The study was done through qualitative means.  Research was accomplished through interviews and community studies.  The conclusion of the study was that the need for a safe place that offered help to students after school until the parents or caregivers returned home from the work place--a place that would teach character, tutor, mentor and be a positive place to hang out with their friends.  The project gave a positive influence for the community as it opened its doors as a game room and tutoring/mentoring center for students after school.  The involvement with parents and the community was also a positive outcome.  Relationships were developed and lives changed by spending time and helping in ways that meet the needs of those involved. The study and implication of the BLOC House revealed to the author that communities are crying for someone to spend time with their families and help them live their everyday lives in a way that makes a difference and has purpose.
