Circles, a program of Move the Mountain, initiates changes in the community that result in eliminating barriers to economic stability. The Circles model partners families in poverty with United Methodist church members so they can work together to end poverty. This project compares the socio-economic condition of the families in poverty prior to enrollment and six months later. Individuals who participate in this ministry project must have a desire to transform their economic status beyond receiving temporary band-aid assistance to acquiring long-term comprehensive remedies for the wounds they are inflicted with as a result of living in poverty.  This transition will allow the poor to become meaningful participants in the economy.  Since gainful employment is the cure for their poverty wounds, they will be empowered to learn to use their talents and resources to sustain themselves and their families and enjoy a meaningful life. This empowerment process will be implemented through training in various basic education, employment, and financial management skills.
