Many of these families feel ill- equipped to train their children in the shadow of such a culture. The neglect of faith formation with children in the home is widespread among Christian parents.  The research question asked was, 'if Christian parents are equipped by their minister for leading their children in family worship, will they become more confident, competent, and committed as their children's spiritual leaders?' The context is a Lutheran congregation in Brazil.  The project uses a method called participatory research to discover whether and to what extent the congregation and parents understand the educational role of parents.
