This thesis seeks to address this reality. First, it listens to the witness of women and genderqueer people about their own complex bodies, identitites, and experiences, treating these as primary theological text. Second, it employs a matrix for theological reflection, engaging the positive, negative, creative, and transformative aspects of embodiment and sexuality in order to create a liberative, eschatological vision. Survey results indicated considerable support for feminist arguments among respondents under 40 (particularly singles), as well as considerable confusion regarding the major New Testament texts relating to the role of women. The thesis documents the breakthrough experience in the lives of these women as they name the causes and consequences of their growing feminist self-awareness and the relationship of their self-awareness to their own spiritual journey.  The theory of Bernard Lonergan's self-appropriation of the human subject undergirds this study.  This theoretical framework shapes the process of theological reflection used with the women and sets the scene for an understanding of emerging consciousness in women that is liberating.  A feminist methodology is employed which situates the research in the experience of the researcher.  The findings of this study confirm that there is an emerging feminist consciousness among Catholic women which needs to be nurtured by conscientized and sensitive ministers. Campus attitudes are surveyed through questionnaires, discussions and private interviews.  The programs presented include a chapel series, bible studies with religious groups and three all-college events.  Feminist perspectives from six area chaplains are included.  Writings of current authors in the areas of feminism and spirituality inform the project. Recommendations for campus planning are made in three areas: worship, religious group life, campus-wide concerns.
