This study explores the importance of symbols expressed in dreams, what may appear as nonsensical spontaneous comments, and uncharacteristic behaviors of patients at the end of life. The workshops are designed to inform and develop skills interpreting symbols to enhanced palliative care. Staff reports indicate the calming benefits that interpreting symbols extend to the dying patient. Documentary research indicates that shamanism is resilient and pervasive in its influence because it always satisfies man's inborn desires.  Syncretism has occurred when shamanism meets Christianity, with the result that Koreans are confused about the nature of faith.   Field research demonstrates a positive correlation (0.763) between shamanism and spiritual depression.  A worksheet was made for the spirituality depressed in accordance with the special context of shamanism.
