On-site observations and in-depth interviews of thirteen non-ordained pastors and some of their significant parishioners in five Midwestern dioceses who pioneered these appointments form the basis of this study.  Among the conclusions: most parishes, after an initial period of stressful change, adopted well to this new form of pastoring. The pre-test was given prior to two workshops at which the writer conducted seminars on team building principles. At the end of a year, the post-test was given and the scores were compared. The hypotheses were that those trained in lifestyle evangelism would report more witnessing encounters and time spent in prayer for the lost than those trained in traditional evangelism. The data for this study was taken from weekly evangelism surveys filed by each student participating in the study. A twelve-week, supervised, self-study course was designed to deal with this need.  The course consisted of twelve weekly themes presented in cassette tape lessons, each one divided into five daily sub-topics; a workbook; and a transcript of the tapes. The purpose of this study was to determine whether Christians who underwent four weeks of christo-cybernetic therapy would self-report significantly less depression than Christians who did not.
