Based on that research, he argues that the role of the elder is to live a life worthy of being imitated and to be capable of articulating the faith embodied by that life. Volunteer care givers help the elder in need with the daily tasks required to sustain independent living, tasks the elder can no longer perform on his or her own but who has no family or other care giver to help do.  Ongoing over site for the ministry will be the responsibility of the Parish Nurse Program (or other organization within the church if no parish nurse) who will provide administration, recruitment and training for volunteers.  Volunteers for this ministry will be recruited from among elders themselves who don't yet need assistance. Shalom is defined in its usage as a biblical, theological, and homiletical motif.  Ten key points are offered for preaching shalom to Congregations of Civility without the preacher becoming alienated from such congregations. Preaching the stories of shalom is then examined as an effective means of fulfilling these ten key points, and four sample sermons are offered which incorporate this technique. He integrates two primary elements as the foundational models of pastoral care:  Jürgen Moltmann's Theology of Hope provides the underlying basis, with Andrew Lester's concept of Hope and Future as a major factor in this thesis. Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning both center and circle.  The purpose of this dissertation was to arrive at a description and understanding of the experience of drawing the mandala and its meaning in the author's life and ministry from a theological, spiritual and psychological perspective.  Two co-researchers were chosen for this study. The author used image dialogues with her mandalas, while open-ended interviews were conducted with the co-researchers to gather the themes for this research. Major themes of self-integration and expanded awareness led to greater confidence in the experience of drawing the mandala to express the individual's spiritual and psychological journey of transformation. The reason for such a procedure is to provide students whose background is in deductive preaching a form by which they can initiate the process of constructing indirect sermons. Disciples episcope began in the office of 'evangelist' in the early decades of the movement, grew through the de facto assumption of episcope by the corresponding secretaries of the movement's 'state missionary societies,' and received constitutional status in the office of Regional Minister, created in the denomination's Restructure in 1969. The method of research used was observer/participant.  The result of this research was that women pastors have a different style of administration as compared to their male counterparts.  The pastors in this study had all been influenced by male role models in the pulpit, and by their mothers and women in the church in their methods of administration.
