The author and a class studied Genesis 1-11 using various critical tools and films concerning the historical accuracy of the text.  A survey of questions relating to the issue of interpretation was administered to participants before the course began.  After the study the survey was repeated and the results compared. If so, is it also possible for leadership style to have a positive effect on members' participation?  The purpose of this project is to determine the relationship between pastoral leadership style and church membership participation and to design a model of leadership style that can enhance membership participation.  The project affirmed that style can be a contributing factor to membership participation but there is not one style that will always enhance membership participation. Such a need might well begin with the intimacy in their own family relationships.  The disquisition develops the relational theme of play biblically, sociologically, and psychologically. The author concludes that Disciples are forsaking their historical/theological heritage in public leadership of worship. The significance of this study for other congregations lies in the fact that it brings together a coalition of several ministry emphases--evangelism, missions, worship and Christian education--through which the cycle of compassion may find development and fruition.  It also moves immediately to settle down with the griever in an extended period of grief sharing and healing.
