The project director gathered data from local and state agencies and organizations related tot he crisis of foster care and adoptable children in Arkansas and Garland County, Arkansas, in order to assess critical needs. The project director performed careful research through interviews, the use of resources online, and other avenues to discover the existing resources and programs related to the crisis of foster care and adoptable children in Arkansas and Garland County, Arkansas. The first step in the process of equipping selected members of FBCT was conducting personal research in the field of orphan-care ministry.  The research involved exploring ministries in other churches and orphan-care ministries and insight from books which are orphan-care based.  Further research included exploring curriculum from orphan-care agencies and interviewing individuals who have personal experience with caring for orphans. The project director developed an equipping seminar and faciliated the presentation of the seminar with selected individuals from FBCT to equip them for orphan-care ministry. First determining the self-esteem of the participants by administering the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI), the project then works with the youth in eight sessions to address their self-esteem as affected by their families, teachers, peers, and themselves. The activity chosen to implement the project training was a two-hour educational program that addressed the needs of institutionalized children, the ministry of the TBCH, and the advantages of foster home care for institutionalized children.
