The project director approached the project utilizing a Strategy Planning Model. With the support of a strategy planning team, an evangelistic outreach strategy emerged for the purpose of reaching unchurched senior adults in Pinellas County, Florida. The strategy planning team met once a week for four weeks. The strategy planning team examined the research made available for the purpose of developing a comprehensive strategy for the association. The project director assisted the strategy planning team in understanding the basic components of a strategy. He also guided the strategy planning team in completing a workable strategy for the association. These adults constitute the leading edge of the Boomer generation (approximately ages 50 to 61) in transition to McGregor Baptist Church's Senior Adult Ministry. The project director's professional goals included research. The research focused on current resources, strategies, and insights available concerning the Boomer generation as it becomes a new wave in older adult ministry. The research helped to establish benchmarks and standards upon which to build. The project director also developed a strategy for ministry to emerging senior adults using a strategy team. Eight major retirement adjustment needs were identified and defined through the use of personal observation, research, and questionnaires.  The design of the program focused on the eight major retirement adjustment needs.  Surveys and a pretest-posttest indicated that the fourteen senior adults who participated in an eight-week training program showed an increased knowledge of these problems. The training program included didactic seminars, counseling sessions, group discussion, case studies, and role play.  Experimental and descriptive research methodologies were used with control and experimental groups.  Statistically significant growth was measured in the deacons' understanding of senior adult needs, crime's impact on senior adults, and counseling senior adult victims.
