The project was implemented with a group of selected leaders from the Thomas County Baptist Association, Inc., all from different churches. The group composition was four pastors, two laymen, and two laywomen. The equipping consisted of six sessions conducted over eight hours in a one-day workshop. This can serve as a hindrance to religious support to subordinate units. The project director will investigate the needs of religious support down to the company level. This will provide the information needed to assess the religious support needs. The project director will identify resources necessary to enhance the religious support strategy. The project director will identify personnel that will help in the holistic religious support strategy, in accordance with the command master religious plan. The research resulted in an annotated bibliography in the field of expository preaching and a report of selected spiritual disciplines. The project director used the research to develop a sermon series intended to raise the congregation's awareness of selected spiritual disciplines. The sermon series was delivered and thereafter evaluated using pre- and post-series surveys and response sheets provided to the congregation. In this project in ministry, the project director researched fields of spiritual formation and family ministry, synthesizing his research into a listing of five personal and faith building essential skills, and created an experiential curriculum. The project's thesis was that training young adult males in spiritual disciplines would help them progress toward spiritual maturity and authentic manhood. Through this project the director taught participants how to practice six spiritual disciplines. The study course included five instructional sessions scheduled one week apart, with workbook assignments for participants to complete between each teaching session.  The goal of this course was to teach participants the biblical principles which lead to spiritual growth, as well as scriptural standards by which to evaluate key aspects of their lives.  Learners then moved from self-evaluation to setting written goals that drew them closer to God's standard for their lives.  Finally, participants designed a customized spiritual growth strategy, including specific action steps to reach their goals.
