The project began with project director researching the field of evangelism for the purpose of identifying essential conversational skills. Next, the project director developed an annotated bibliography based upon the completed research. After conducting research and identifying essential conversational skills, the project director wrote a report that discussed the findings. Expert evaluators evaluated the annotated bibliography.The next step in the project was to develop a curriculum to equip selected members of Immanuel Baptist Church with essential conversational evangelism skills. The project director acquired skills for writing curriculum by completing a self-guided study, Design for Teaching and Training, by LeRoy Ford. The project director wrote the curriculum and an expert evaluator evaluated the curriculum. The project director next conducted a six-session discipleship class to equip selected members of Immanuel Baptist church, Greenwood, Mississippi, in essential conversational evangelism skills. Professional goals for the project included increasing knowledge and understanding of interpersonal conflict and increasing knowledge and skills in adult instructional theory and practice. The project director researched biblical texts and interpersonal conflict. She selected six sets of skills including leadership, communication, biblical resolution, forgiveness, calming response and dealing with antagonists. The project evaluated an ongoing progressive, relational discipleship process implemented in a local church via a partnership between Worldwide Discipleship Association (WDA) and New Hope Baptist Church of Fayetteville, GA. The project director, targeting a select group of young adult leaders and using resources developed by WDA, presented a philosophical and practical overview of a relational discipleship paradigm through a two-day workshop. Also, the project director implemented a segment of a focused equipping and emotional model for ministry process by using a three to five-month training curriculum and experience. Research was conducted regarding the psychological development of teenagers and how their development relates to interpersonal relationship skills. Current research in books, journals, and online resources were used for further study of interpersonal relationship skills. Several high school counselors were interviewed to find out how these skills impact students in schools. They are not dead because both husbands and wives still live together; they are not separated or divorced.  The marriage is not alive either because the union has become sour, bitter, and burdensome.  In the search to find out how best to reverse this trend, communication skills stand out as one solution.  The project is a research into literature from leading authorities in both secular and religious communities on communication skills with particular reference to strengthening marital relationships.  Care was taken in the selection of materials to assure sound biblical foundation.  The materials selected were used to develop lesson plans for training couples in communication that leads to relationship building. The purpose of this project was to train a select group of married couples of Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Lagos, Nigeria in communication skills to strengthen marriage. The training sessions focused on developing participants in communication that builds up relationships with the overall goal of producing a healthy marital relationship that leads to security and stability of Christian homes. The focus of the project is on verbal, face-to-face, communication between couples.  Hence, the discussions during the seminars emphasized components of communication such as listening, self disclosure, and transparency.  As the project progressed, it became obvious that participants, though vast in Bible knowledge, pay very little attention to applying biblical principles to their lifestyle. This meant that the discipleship programs which many of the participants attended and their personal Bible studies emphasized head knowledge rather than heart knowledge.  What changes people is the application of Bible principles to everyday life, not just the hearing of the word, but the doing of the word.  Therefore, the project emphasized application rather than theoretical knowledge of the Bible to achieve the desired goal.  As a result of this finding, couples' ministry has been fully established in the church with monthly activities.
